Howdy!
I’m Candace Mensik-Mother, doula, life long learner, physiological birth enthusiast, and Founder of Transcendent Birth®.
With a decade of doula experience, and years of continued education, I am on a mission to improve birth outcomes and empower women like you, as you navigate pregnancy and prepare for birth.
Every woman deserves care that reflects her unique needs, her story, and her vision for birth. I lean on both empathy and intuition to guide the support I provide, meeting you exactly where you are. I believe deeply in sisterhood, and the strength that comes when women uplift one another. I see pregnancy, birth and postpartum as times when that support matters most. It takes a village, and I am honored to be a part of yours.
Whether this is your first baby or your eighth, medicated or unmedicated, I’m here to support you on your birth journey!

Birth Stories and Kind Words
Each story shared here holds a special place in my heart. I am endlessly thankful for the families who have allowed me to be a part of their journeys. Your strength, love, and trust continue to inspire my heart and my work everyday.
A little about me…
I’m a native Texan, born and raised in Sugar Land. After highschool, life took me a little farther north to Norman, Oklahoma, where I pursued a degree in Psychology. With my highschool sweetheart playing football for the University of Oklahoma, I also had a front row seat to an incredible era of Sooner football… and yes, it was every bit as much fun as it sounds. Eventually, we made our way back to Texas, tied the knot, and promptly started our family.
Today, I’m the proud mother of a sweet, compassionate boy and a darling, very funny little girl! Naturally, they inherited the athletic gene, so sports continue to be something of a family tradition. We love cheering them on, watching their confidence grow, and making memories alongside fellow families who have become some of our dearest friends.
My own birth experience in 2014 was transformative in ways that stayed with me long after the birth itself. I came away with a profound sense of strength and a deep appreciation for informed choice, advocacy, and compassionate support. Those values ultimately inspired Transcendent Birth®, and continue to shape the way I support women today.
Along the way, I’ve come to appreciate just how important it is to occasionally set aside all of the hats we wear as moms, wives, professionals, caregivers, and take a moment to check in with the woman beneath them all. Making space for what we need helps us feel restored, stay connected to ourselves, and bring our best to the parts of life that matters most. For me, movement and time outdoors are some of my favorite ways to recharge. I love a good workout, especially barre or weight training, and could happily spend all day in the garden. Sunshine, fresh air, and bare feet are hard to beat. 🙂
10+ years of experience. Hundreds of families supported.

A note from Candace:
I believe childbirth is the essence of nature’s beauty in its purest form. A sacred rite of passage. Birth unlocks a secret compartment of a woman’s being which was undiscovered until the profound moment that she becomes a mother. The birth of each child will forever influence the mental and physical health of the mother, baby, and family.
My role as a doula is to enhance this sacred experience and promote an overall positive outcome for you and your family- by providing information, non-judgmental support, and by helping you access your inner wisdom and strength. My role is not to speak for you but rather to help you find and nurture your own voice.
By working together, we can create a safe and relaxed environment around birth, giving you confidence in your body and belief in yourself.
